Not only does it allow you to search for companies, but also it shows you how you are connected to certain people in an organization through the people you already know.  It also provides valuable expertise. Evaluating other profiles that are similar to yours gives you additional insight into how to present your work and your qualifications. It’s a huge asset when it comes to resume writing. LinkedIn also limits the number of characters that can be used in the profile summary and job description, which is great practice for being concise.

Target Your Social Media Contacts:

Just as social media has proven to be an effective marketing tool for companies; it is a great way to market yourself in your job search. LinkedIn has a high search ranking, and employers will check social media sites of prospective candidates. According to a Career Builder survey of 2,303 hiring managers, 37% of employers use social media to screen candidates, and 65% use social media to research the candidates to see if their profiles are professional. They also use LinkedIn to post job opportunities and acquire references.

Make Your Profile and Resume Accessible:
